If it's a 12V vehicle made in 2008 or newer with an OBD-II port (every car sold in the US since 1996, with reliable 12V controller power from 2008 on), yes. We've tested 40+ makes and models. Hybrids and EVs work too.
Optional. Most installs are 100% hands-only — peel adhesive, run wire, plug into OBD. You may want a thin plastic trim tool to tuck the strips under panels for the cleanest finish (we sell one for $4 add-on at checkout).
No. The kit only draws power from the OBD port — it doesn't transmit signal back to the ECU. We've never had a CEL caused by GLO. If you see one after install, it's coincidence.
The kit includes a pass-through port on the controller, so you can plug a code reader in without unplugging GLO. Most installs don't need this, but it's there.

No. The kit has a built-in mic that picks up ambient sound — your stereo, your phone speaker, your podcast. No Wi-Fi or streaming integration needed. The pulse syncs to the actual sound in the car.
Yes — unlimited saved scenes per user. Slot 1 might be a chill cyan, slot 2 your music sync, slot 3 your "carpool the kids" warm white. Switch between them in two taps.

Interior ambient lighting is legal in all 50 states. Some states restrict pure red and pure blue (which can be confused with emergency vehicles) for front-facing visible lights. The app blocks pure red and blue from front zones by default; toggle off on private property or in states where it's allowed.
Sleep current is under 5mA — about the same as your car clock. We've left test cars idle for 2+ weeks with no measurable battery impact.
Automotive-grade SMD LEDs run cool. The strips are rated for cabin temps up to 185°F. The controller has thermal shutoff just in case.
